Yan Yean Road
In October 2017, the contract to deliver the first stage of the Yan Yean Road Upgrade was awarded to BMD Group. The first community information session was held last weekend, on Saturday the 17th of February.
This $131 million project is expected to be complete by mid-2019.
Plenty Road Upgrade
The Andrews Labor Government has invested $139.4 million to reduce congestion and improve safety on this busy road.
Between Bush Boulevard and McKimmies Road, both lanes will be widened, with a new lane added in each direction, bringing the total number of lanes up to six.
Between Bush Boulevard and Bridge Inn Road, two new lanes will be added, one going in each direction, bringing the total number of lanes to four.
Decmil has been awarded the contract and has begun working on Plenty Road between McKimmies Road and Bush Boulevard. Reduced speed limits have been from the end of January.
The Andrews Labor Government is committed to building a new diamond interchange to connect O’Herns Road to the Hume Freeway. This $81 million project has been awarded to Maca Civil Pty Ltd., with $55.2 million coming from the Victorian Government and $25.8 million coming from the federal government.
Construction works to widen O’Herns Road and build the new interchange are scheduled to be completed by late-2019.
The North East Link
The largest transport project in Victoria’s history. This project will help reduce congestion for everyone in the North by providing the missing link from the M80 Ring Road to the Eastern Freeway
