$2 MILLION PLUS BOOST FOR GILSON COLLEGE

Students at Gilson College, Mernda are a step closer to having the facilities they deserve thanks to a $1 million investment from the Andrews Labor Government.

Gilson College is one of 18 non-government schools across Victoria to share in $27.6 million in funding for new schools, classrooms and facilities.

Gilson College will use the funding for upgrading an unfinished two-storey building, including a fit-out of the ground level to create a library, five classrooms, amenities, associated staff office and storage space.  The total cost of the project is close to $3 million.

The Andrews Labor Government is building the Education State so that every community has access to a great school and every Victorian student can get a great education.

This includes $120 million to help build and upgrade Catholic and independent schools and a record $1.1 billion to build new government schools and upgrade existing government school facilities.
