Bringing the best of the arts to Mitchell Shire

Applications are now open for the Andrews Government’s Small Regional Presenters program to bring new shows, performances and festivals to Victorian communities.

Labor MPs Danielle Green and Jaclyn Symes are encouraging local not-for-profit arts groups, arts societies, venues and Mitchell Shire Council to apply for a grant, and increase the range of cultural experiences available in the Shire.

Grants of between $1,500 to $15,000 are now available to support a single show or live event, a series of shows or an annual program.

Ms Green said the Small Regional Presenters program supports venues or presenters working on the ground to attract shows to their area.

“Mitchell Shire is full of terrific performers who are passionate about bringing great theatre, music and other performances to local audiences. We’re helping them do just that,” Ms Green said.

Ms Symes said the program is one of the ways the Andrews Government is investing in regional arts and culture.

“This program helps regional communities attract the best shows and support local artists and creative organisations. Regardless of where you live, we’re taking shows on the road,” Ms Symes said.

The Small Regional Presenters program is now open for applications.
