JUNIOR LANDCARE AND BIODIVERSITY GRANTS NOW OPEN

The Andrews Labor Government today announced $400,000 in funding for Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants, to help kids across the state protect Victoria’s environment.

Member for Yan Yean Danielle Green is encouraging local groups to apply for the fund, which is open to Victorian schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, scouts, guides and youth groups.

Grants of up to $5,000 will be available to fund projects that boost biodiversity through the development, improvement or restoration of habitat for Victoria’s native plants and animals. Programs that engage or educate young people to value and actively care for Victoria’s natural environment are also eligible for funding.

These grants will encourage young people across Victoria to learn more about the environment through outdoor, hands-on activities and will be administered by Landcare Australia as part of their Junior Landcare program, in partnership with the Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning.
