NEW CAMPUS FOR BEVERIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Minister for Education James Merlino today announced that the land of the new campus has now been purchased and construction will get underway later this year following a $19.7 million funding allocation in the last budget.
The second campus will be built at 30 Ambrosia Way, Beveridge and is set to open in Term 1, 2020, catering for an extra 525 students once completed.
The Victorian School Building Authority will now work with the school and the local community to address questions regarding the logistics of two campuses, transport queries and the condition of the current Beveridge Primary School campus.
The community will also be consulted on the design and focus of the new campus.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and education, and has invested more than $3.8 billion to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.
This school building boom has delivered more than 1,300 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
This contrasts with the Liberals and Nationals who let schools crumble and decay, while slashing $1 billion from the education budget.
