Wallan bowlers are looking forward to competing well into the evenings following the installation of new lighting over the Wallan Bowling Club’s competition green.

Parliamentary Secretary for Sport and Member for Yan Yean Danielle Green officially opened the new lights at the Wallan Bowling Club made possible thanks to a $70,000 grant from the Andrews Labor Government’s Strategic Community Sports Fund.

More night competitions, as well as training and barefoot bowls under the new lights will provide the Wallan community with increased capacity and scheduling opportunities for the sport of bowls.

This investment builds on the club’s new synthetic green which was opened in 2016 with a $90,000 grant from the Labor Government.

The new lights are part of the Government’s commitment to promoting sports and active recreation, and encouraging all Victorians to get involved and enjoy the sport and recreation they love.

Across Victoria we’ve invested more than $850 million in community sport and active recreation facilities since 2014.

The Government acknowledged the Wallan Bowling Club for its significant financial contribution and commitment to deliver the project.
