Work underway on Yarrambat Park Primary School

Preparation work has officially commenced on the site of the new Yarrambat Park Primary School in Doreen.

Labor Member for Yan Yean, Danielle Green, today turned the first sod at the Patience Avenue site, with major works to commence over coming weeks.

The new school was designed in consultation with local residents, who got the opportunity to have their say during community engagement held during the design process.

The $25 million Yarrambat Park Primary School is one of six new growth area schools being delivered across Melbourne as part of a multi-school tender with Kane Constructions.

The company has been engaged by the Andrews Government to also construct Truganina East P-9, Sanctuary Lakes South P-9 (Point Cook), Burnside Primary, Aitkin Hill Primary (Craigieburn) and Pakenham North East Primary.

Ms Green said she was delighted Yarrambat Park Primary School would soon be a reality.

“Yarrambat Park Primary School will be more than just a great new local school when it opens next year, it will be a hub that provides great services and facilities that everyone in the Doreen community can be proud of,” Ms Green said.

“I speak regularly with local parents and I know how excited they are about a new, purpose build school here in Doreen,” she said.

The Labor Government is investing more than $2.5 billion to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
