Metropolitan Melbourne (including City of Whittlesea and Nillumbik Shire Council) is now in Stage 4 restrictions.

Regional Victoria (including Mitchell Shire Council) will remain under Stage 3 restrictions. If you live in regional Victoria, there are only four reasons that you can leave home:
  • to shop for food and essential goods or services
  • to provide care, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
  • to exercise or for outdoor recreation with your household, or one other person
  • for work or study, if you can’t do it from home.
A curfew has been put in place in Metropolitan Melbourne (including City of Whittlesea and Nillumbik Shire Council). The curfew will be in operation from 8pm to 5am, with people only allowed to leave their house for work, and essential health, care or safety reasons.

From 5am to 8pm, you can only leave your home for one of the following four reasons:
  1. Shopping for necessary goods and services
  2. Exercise
  3. Caregiving and health care
  4. Work/study if it cannot be done from home
In addition to the curfew there are also new restrictions applying to the distance that people can travel with a limitation of a 5km radius in most circumstances. More information on these restrictions can be found in the below links.

Under Stage 4 restrictions, some businesses and services may have to cease. This includes industries such as retail, administration, and some manufacturing.

The following retail services (along with our frontline COVID-19 responders) will continue to operate: supermarkets, grocery stores, bottle shops, pharmacies, petrol stations, banks, newsagents, and post offices.

Those businesses and services that can remain open have until 11.59pm Friday 7 August 2020 to enact a COVIDsafe Plan. This plan must focus on safety, prevention and response in the event that coronavirus is linked to the workplace. More information can be found in the link below

Business should contact the Business Victoria coronavirus hotline on 13 22 15 or visit the Business Victoria website below for assistance.
